The 6000N Play combines the versatility of the DTS Play-Fi wireless audio platform with audiolab’s sonic know-how to deliver a great-sounding Wi-Fi streaming solution that is simple to set up and use. The inclusion of a DAC stage ensures the 6000N Play can be used with any audio system – simply connect the RCA analogue outputs to a regular ampliﬁer, or a pair of active speakers. Alternatively, take a digital feed (optical or coaxial) direct to an external DAC, or an amp with digital inputs such as audiolab’s 6000A. Naturally, the 6000A is an ideal partner for the 6000N Play; when these two components are paired digitally, an optical or coaxial cable is used to convey the audio signal while a supplied USB control cable enables control of the 6000A volume via the Play-Fi app.

Direct Streaming

The 6000N Play is conﬁgured and operated via the Play-Fi app, available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire phones and tablets, as well as Apple and Android smartwatches and Windows PCs. It can also stream directly from Spotify via Spotify Connect, and is DLNA and UPnP compliant. There are minimal controls on the component itself – just the standby button and a set of six’ preset’ buttons. These presets operate exactly like those on a DAB or FM tuner; simply select an internet radio station, or a playlist from a compatible streaming service, and store it as a preset for speedy access – no app required.

This operational simplicity, coupled to Play-Fi’s versatility, is key to the 6000N Play’s appeal. For some, it is the perfect way to stream music from the likes of Spotify, Tidal and Deezer, with all the additional functionality of Play-Fi including multi-room audio. Computer audio – without the computer
The Elac Discovery DS-S101-G is the perfect device for controlling and playing digital music, with the need for a computer. Simply connect it to your router with an Ethernet cable, hook up to your hi-fi and use the ROON app to navigate through your digital music.

ROON Control app
The really cleaver part of this music server is the ROON Control app. Compatible with Apple (iOS and OSX), Android and Windows, it lets you use a smartphone, tablet or computer to collate and control your personal music library. Use it to select from downloads, ripped CDs and streaming services. Your collection is supported by a rich library of images and information, making the search for music a more rewarding experience.

Connect up a NAS drive
Connect up your NAS (Network Attached Storage) drive via USB and you’ll be able to access all your stored music using the ROON app. Now you can access your ‘computer’ music without having to switch on the computer.

Gapless play
For seamless album enjoyment, the Discovery DS-S101-G offers gapless playback. Listen to your favourite Classical and prog rock albums without annoying pauses between what should be seamless music.

Tidal built-in
With support for Tidal, you can access lossless quality music from one of the highest quality streaming services.

High Resolution compatible
The Discovery DS-S101-G supports a wide range of file types, including High Resolution music files. Supported formats include WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, OGG, MP3 and AAC plus 192/24-bit high resolution support for WAV, AIFF, FLAC and ALAC.

Easy to connect
Thanks to a wide range of outputs, it’s easy to connect the Discovery to your Hi-Fi. With two analogue outputs plus digital optical and coaxial, both analogue and digital amps and receivers are covered.

Multi-room
For effortless music around your home, the Discovery server supports up to eight rooms, making it an ideal addition to a cost effective multi-room music system.

This produces an annoying pause in the music as the player reads the track marker. With gapless playback, this is no longer an issue, meaning you get to hear the whole album exactly as the artist intended.
