HONEYCOMB DOME WOOFER

The new 17ND36 bass driver is specifically developed for Murano speakers.

In order to deliver deep yet tight and fast bass from a small volume, our engineers have miniaturised the concept of La Sphère’s 55cm woofer. The concave honeycomb membrane offers great rigidity and excellent damping which enables a large excursion without deformation.

Guided by a long voice coil in the 45 mm deep air gap of a 4-kilogram oversized motor, this driver gives the Murano Alto’s bass crystal purity and strength.

ADJUSTABLE BOTTOM END

The 3 long, curved vents give Murano Alto an impressive bass boost, both in richness and extension. Depending on the acoustics of the room and the position of the speakers in it, using or not using a vent plug per speaker allows you to choose between the maximum bass level and the most beautiful extension towards the extreme bass.

At the heart of the TC23 triaxial loudspeaker which equips our flagship systems “La Sphère” and “L’Océan” is the BC13. Assembled and tested in our French workshops, it guarantees a perfect timbre fidelity, without artifice or auditory fatigue, with an unequaled depth and soundstage realism. HDSE FILTERS

The Cabasse measuring protocol in the anechoic chamber takes into account measurements on the listening axis and at 360° for perfect control of the directivity and global power output in keeping with the Cabasse HDSE principle (Homogeneous Distribution of the Sonic Energy). Direct and reflected sounds are homogeneous, the soundstage is wide and stable.

To celebrate its history, Wharfedale has established the Heritage Series recreations of famous models from its past, entirely re-engineered using contemporary techniques and materials. The latest loudspeaker to join this collection is the Linton. The original Linton debuted in 1965 and the line continued in various iterations until the end of the 1970s. It was a classic model of its time, viewed as a serious hi-fi speaker but also relatively affordable. LINTON Heritage

The new Linton has a clear family resemblance. It, too, is a three-way standmount model – a rarity in the modern era – retaining similar proportions to the classic Linton models. Its wood-veneered cabinet has a vintage look, yet the standard of finish is distinctly contemporary.

The Linton makes use of its wide baffle by incorporating a large (by modern standards) bass driver with a 200mm Kevlar cone, mounted on a rigid, die-cast chassis. Gilbert Briggs, who founded Wharfedale in 1932, turned the company into one of the most famous loudspeaker brands in the world by concentrating on quality and value for money.
